Nobody likes to live in a messy and dirty house, right? But what does cleanliness has to do with a healthy mindset? Basically everything.

The disorder might seem harmless but it can make you stress quickly, especially when you have important tasks to do. The feeling of having to clean up your desk mixed with your duties can cause unnecessary anxiety.

Disorganization also affects negatively even your pets (!) so we will give you some golden tips to help you with that matter.

It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to has power over you, if you allow it. (Leon Brown)

Mental health has been one of the main subjects over the last decade since the depression, panic syndrome, and other mental disorders have become more known in our society.

Having a healthy mindset doesn’t mean that you won’t have bad days or negative thoughts anymore. Despite that wrong belief, it will make you deal better with situations that you might find harsh.

It is proved that cleanliness and organization can help to reduce stress, increase happiness, and improve your eating and exercising habits.

Besides, it helps to boost your productivity and creates a feeling of refreshment so it is important to maintain a balanced lifestyle.

And don’t forget to take some time for yourself to do whatever makes you happy for at least one hour per day.

This can be very personal but some suggestions might be reading, writing in your journal, meditating, grabbing a cup of coffee, among others.

We already said that we are creatures of habit. So why is it so hard to stick to a routine and follow your planner?

It sounds cliché but having a positive attitude and consistency is often said as the keys to a successful life.

Even though life can be pretty unpredictable sometimes, we can always try to manage daily situations in the best possible way according to our plans.

Planner, calendar, agenda, notes, and every stationery item that might seem useless can be a powerful tool to make your life more organized.

It is said that after 21 days, a new habit can be formed. Why not include the habit of iron your clothes or make your bed?

For instance, studies show that making your bed right after you wake up increases the chance of having a better sleep by 19%.

Have you heard about the Pomodoro technique? No, we are not talking about pasta sauce…

Pomodoro technique is a time management system that helps you to break your routine and become more productive.

The method uses a timer to break your work time into short intervals. For example:

  1. Decide on the task to be done.
  2. Set the timer, traditionally to 25 minutes (each 25-minute time period is called “pomodoro”).
  3. Work on the task.
  4. End work when the timer rings and put a checkmark on a piece of paper.
  5. If you have fewer than four checkmarks, take a short break (3–5 minutes), then go to step 6.
  6. After four pomodoros, take a longer break (15–30 minutes), reset your checkmark count to zero, then go to step 1.

Cleaner space, cleaner life.

Domestic cleaning may be a boring task for most of the people.

However, the accumulation of clutter and dirt can negatively impact your mindset by making your brain harder to concentrate and limit your ability to process information.

Over time, this can become a pattern and cause a bad outcome on your mindset.

As mentioned before in our end-of-lease tips, cleaning regularly can have a better result than leaving a huge amount of dull tasks for one day.

At the same time, it is better to separate short periods of time to clean because that way, you will be building a habit too.

If you clean some space using the 15 minute-day approach, the result can positively surprise you. You might feel more energized to see that there’s no mess around the house.

This practice can be highly effective, especially if you pick a time of the day when you are more productive and with no distractions.

TIP: put your earphones on and listen to your favorite music while you are cleaning everything up. This will boost your mood and improve your motivation.

Likewise, the same rules can be applied to your office cleaning.

Maintain your desktop clutter-free, with a calendar or planner of your priorities in front of you, and feel the difference in your mindset happens.
